The Waynesville Area Chamber of Commerce is a vibrant organization made up of individuals and businesses united by a common goal: to make our community a better place to live, work, and play. Guided by the mission to “advance, protect, and preserve the civic, economic, business, and individual interests of the Waynesville area,” the Chamber serves as a vital force for positive growth and collaboration.

Founded in 1969 as a non-profit organization, the Chamber now proudly represents over 230 members. Its leadership is entrusted to a Board of Directors, elected by the membership, who oversee the organization’s direction and uphold its by-laws. An Executive Director, appointed by the Board, manages the day-to-day operations and coordinates a variety of programs and events designed to support and celebrate the community.

The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival

Beyond our mission to make Waynesville a wonderful place to live, work, and play, the Waynesville Area Chamber of Commerce proudly organizes and sponsors the beloved Ohio Sauerkraut Festival. Held every year on the second full weekend in October, this cherished event draws more than 300,000 visitors over two lively days.

The festival celebrates community spirit, local heritage, and, of course, plenty of sauerkraut! From delicious food and family-friendly activities to music and unique vendors, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Each holiday season, the Waynesville Area Chamber of Commerce partners with the Merchants Association to bring you Christmas in the Village—a heartwarming celebration filled with the joy of the season.
