Biography

This former Quaker Boarding House, built in 1905, features historical exhibits in 22 rooms. The Museum also has a huge Garage Sale every year and conducts Underground Railroad Tours, Ghost Tours and Dinners, a Christmas Tour of Homes, and is open to the public for visits from April through mid-December on Wednesday and Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Friends Home Museum is an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to:
• Preserve all aspects of the history of Waynesville and the surrounding areas in Warren County.
• Record, document and preserve the important aspects of the area’s history and culture.
• Provide a variety of educational opportunities for the public that will illustrate the past and present aspirations of our local communities.
• Preserve, store, catalog and display donated historical articles such as photographs, paintings, journals and other papers from local families, books, business records, historic décor, furnishings, clothing and other artifacts, as well as oral transcriptions, both audio and video.
