Nearly forty years ago, my father instilled in me a love of working with my hands to produce things that were functional, durable, and pleasing to the eye. Dad was an expert craftsman with vision to imagine the details in a final piece before the first cut was made. His mantra was always, “Anything worth doing is worth doing right.” I took that phrase to heart and today I still incorporate that philosophy into every single piece I produce. Sawdust & Stitches was born from a love of woodworking, and a reluctant confession that I have a tendency to hurt myself pretty frequently in the process (I still have all my fingers so far).
